What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Branson, Missouri for the first time?

It’s very hot and some spots are regulated to where only certain jigs, no live bait or power bait are allowed.

Branson is beautiful, Table Rock lake is stunning and the people are incredibly nice and hospitable.

Morning fishing seems like it’s the key. Foggy on the water and cool in the morning before the sun got it done for us.

Bring plenty of sunscreen. More water to drink if needed. The guide will show you the best places to fish, trust the equipment it works. Overall have a great time.

I would wait another week or two for the walleye. Or talk to the captain about when a good time for trout but would highly recommend fishing with captain Eric. He was phenomenal

Get a guide with a lot of experience. Different places fish differently. Be open to trying something new.

New anglers start with the two hour trip targeting trout. More experienced anglers take the four hour trips targeting the many other species of fish available in the area.

I'll tell you what we where told after catching 3 fish in almost 4 hours. It's the wrong time of year. Fall is better than summer and spring is better than fall.

Fish Table Rock if you want to target small mouth bass and Taneycomo if you want to catch brown and rainbow trout.

You have to be prepared for the fact that if there is a major change in the weather (cool front), the trout may not bite during your trip. It has nothing to do with your boat captain or equipment.

Make sure to use lure colors and line for clear water fishing. I did not have clear lakes in my home area.

Plan for plenty of time and expect different weather. Just enjoy your time on the water. Take time to enjoy the tranquility of it all

You may want to try bass fishing if you are a novice fishermen. The trout fishing trip requires some experience.

Definitely use a guide. They know the area and the techniques for the area. Brian at Captain B’s was great.

Fishing in April in Branson is great as the weather is moderate and fish are active at various depths due to warming of water. Recommend sun screen and/or long sleeves and head protection

For your first time you need a guide. So many places to fish you will miss all the best spots.

Probably bigger and better fish earlier in the year when water is cooler and fish are spawning.

We had a specific area we want to fish. It would be better to go where the guide suggests
