What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Lorain, Ohio for the first time?

The Shipyards Marina is really nice and clean, and you can grab a beer and some great food there, too! Easy to get to.

Be ready to catch walleye. There are some monster size fish in the Lake and Captain Larry’s Walleye Magnet knows exactly where they are. Get a good nights sleep and be ready to reel!

Fishing Lorain this last week of June was perfect for meeting limit on good-size walleye. We definitely will be returning this time of year.

Absolutely!!!even if you owned your own boat it would be worth it to learn spots and exactly how to set up. Captain is very knowledgeable and willing to share tips and tricks

Be certain you are fishing for correct fish at correct time of year. Walleye fishing mid-September was not so good.

Go with Captain "Sloppy Joe"! Smaller boat than these big charters but you get a great comraderie,and personal one on one experience.

Remember to bring sunscreen and beverages as its sunny and hot. And has a very beautiful marina to go out from.

Nice town with nice folks. Prepare for some mosquitoes on the water but other than that it is a great experience!

Bring plenty of sun screen, a wide hat and shades, and plenty of liquid. As the action can get frantic, be prepared to respond quickly to the captain's guidance.

Sun was shining but not too hot, water was perfect like glass (rare) but we got lucky!

This time of the year the big walleye have migrated to the deeper water in and around Lorain

We booked a hotel in Elyria overnight after fishing. About 30minutes from Lorain. Very nice.

It’s not as busy in this location as it is other places it’s not as touristy.

Yes if you looking to catch a few big ones along with good quality sizes, they have them there

Use someone who knows the waters. If water is cloudy it can be hard to hook up on the fish.

Just enjoy the experience of being on Lake Erie, and if you catch the fish, all the better.

The fishi ng trip was enjoyable. Captain Joe was grat. We highly recommend him.
