There was a mixup on the charter out of Cleveland BC . Hooking Hogs wasn’t running out of Cleveland on that date but you didn’t log that info correctly from what Captain Mike stated and he only was running out of Geneva state marina that’s 1 and a half hrs away one way for myself! I was to happy about that in expected drive to go fishing for a 6 fish limit but Monday was the only day I had the opportunity , so I booked it and planned for the 3 hrs of road time. Would I recommend hooking hogs….. I would but when I comes time to have fish cleaned it seems that the bag of filets I took out of 24 total fish ,10 been ing over 24 to 26 “ and one steelhead that was claimed before it hit the boat by the captains 2 regular customers and the balance were above limit size 18”- 21the bag I brought home had one large filet and the balance of what the smaller filets divided by three I thought ? The size of the fish and the volume to me doesn’t add up. If the total catch is said by the capital of the boat to be divided equally then it should be when you receive it. The poundage didn’t add up to me.

Hire Captain Joe Beno with “On The Swing” charters.
I’m an experienced fisherman but I’m smart enough to know that having a Great experience on unfamiliar water is very unlikely. Do yourself a favor , take out all the risk, be willing to listen and learn, then hire the Pro - Joe Beno.

Children comment depends how old they are. The weather was tough just to get out so be patient. We had a great trip with Shaun and his mate. Very helpful guys and worked hard to get are limit but intact got it. Will do again for sure.

It was cold in the morning, but it warmed up quick once the sun came out. Dress in layers and you will be fine.

First time renting a charter or fishing in Cleveland. Waves were rough bc of the wind that day but weather was still warm.

Capt recommended avoiding month of August. August can be challenging and long run out to deeper/cooler waters.

Even in May it's chilly in the morning bring a coat or sweatshirt, water and snacks the Capt provided everything else.

Be prepared for the black flies if the wind is not blowing, so you may want to wear long pants. Also, don't forget your sunscreen.

Bring a cooler to keep your fish in and the equipment you will need to filet them.

Take a charter and learn how to fish the lake. It is an amazing lake if you know how to fish it.

Find an experienced and friendly guide like Capt Joe and just ask him as many questions as you can.

As always bring sunscreen and plenty of fluids out on the water with the great lakes!

Great weather in early to mid June and a great time to fish before it gets really hot.
