If it’s your first time fishing in Leland, I highly recommend booking a trip with a local captain—especially if you’re targeting king salmon or lake trout around the Manitou Islands. The waters here are deep, clear, and full of life, but they can be tough to read without local knowledge.
Bring a cooler for your catch—Carlson’s will filet and pin-bone it for you, or the chef at The Cove will cook it up when you get back to the dock. Come ready to have fun—there’s truly no better place in the world to experience a fishing charter than Leland, Michigan.

Fishing is fishing! As Capt. Bob says, "the best time to go fishing is when the fish are biting"! Now, if anyone can predict that, you would make millions.......

Bring a cooler to take your fish with you. Carlson’s was so easy and convenient with cleaning and bagging our fish after our day on the water.

Sounds like July is the ending of Trout and the beginning of Salmon. Opportunity for either but could take some hunting.

Had my 9 and 6 year old grandkids out with Captain Bob last year. They now love fishing!

It was great but not many species this time of year. I'm gonna be back when the salmon are in.

Seasickness bands, dramamine, jackets for a chilly morning or night, and a good attitude.
