The Red Snapper season is upon us and the bite has been great overall! Red Snappers are now open in both State and Federal waters, and there seems to be a lot around for the catching. We have also been catching some Mangrove Snappers, Scamps (a small grouper), King Mackerels and we have even caught some Cobia as well!

The Sheepshead didn't bite with a neap tide so we trolled for Spanish Mackerel in the pass and were very successful, even losing several off the hook! Near the end of the trip we went farther into the Gulf and tried bottom fishing. We caught Red Snapper which we released as they are not open to keep...YET. We also caught some Triggerfish, and other bottom dwellers while reef fishing as well. Naturally, the young lady caught the largest and most fish all day!

Red Snappers are open in federal waters and the bite is on! This is a pic from Ashley's crew from last year as I haven't taken any pics this year. June has arrived and although some fish have just gone out of season such as the Amberjacks, Red Snappers and Gag Groupers have opened up for the first time this year. We are able to keep them in federal waters at this time, so book now!!!

The King and Spanish Mackerel fishing has been great right out front, with no run time involved. Big Spanish Mackerel are biting in shallow water along with some Bonitos that showed up, and the King Mackerel are just a bit deeper but still very close. The water is very clear and beautiful, and the seas have been calm and are forecast to be the same fore the near future. Here is a few of the anglers I have taken out to try their hand at trolling, they all were very successful! Happy Anglers with big smiles!!!
