The Offhore414 is in a week long fishing tournament called (salmon a rama) worth $25000 for the biggest fish. The first day we smacked 2 very large king salmon 5 minutes into the trip at 4:30 with only 2 poles in the water. The King Salmon was hooked and put up the fight of a lifetime that lasted an hr. Captain Nick with a swift one handed net job got the big fish in the boat. We ended up with over 100lbs of fish in the morning. The Offshre414 regrouped and ate some fresh salmon off the grill and waited until the night bite. We ran 10 miles to our honey hole and we caught 15 King salmon that even I was impressed with. The 20lb Salmon almost spooled us but because we have big reels and braid backing we were prepared. With a storm rolling in we decided to start pulling linne than wham wham wham the line screamed out and we knew we had a monster on that maybe would win us $25000. After 5 minutes on constant line peeling out we pulled all the rods out of the water and tuned the boat to follow this fish. After 20 minutes of driving around this monster fish it spit the hook. The call came in late July 4th looking for a 2 person afternoon fishing trip. The crew of the Offshre414 said heck ya lets go catch some fish. The weather was perfect an the clients were in for Milwaukee's summer fest event and wanted a break from the crowd. Amanda and her husband Aaron own a business out of town and they wanted a good time. We ran south and were rewarded with some very nice King Salmon. We ran 15 miles to our spot we caught fish the day earlier and after only one nice Salmon and cold water temps (43) the Offshore414's crew knew it was a bad and it would be hard to catch fish in this cold water. With a tip and a hunch we pulled 11 rods and decided to run 20 miles in the opposite direction. The Offshore414 is fast and sips fuel and there is not many charter boats that can do this. After the 15 min run at 38 knots. The crew spotted a world class Salmon jump out of the water in front of the boat and we knew we made the right decision. We soon had lines in again and after the fish dance we caught 2 huge Kings that almost pulled our clients in the water. We ended up with 3 more and 60lbs of great tasting Salmon and some very happy clients.

The day started off great we had 3 fish on before 5:15 am then the wind picked up . The weather this year has made it tough on all the charter boats but the Offshore414 still puts a good fight in. All the clients had a chance to catch a fish and one left with a great fish story. Captain Nick decided that the wind would make fishing hard and we should pull lines and go to our secret spot. The Offshore414 soon had three more fish in the box then all _ _ _ broke loose. The dipsy diver rod bent hard while the Offshore414 rounded the corner just a few feet off the wall. The crew grabbed the rod and handed it off and the fight was on. This fish was a king Salmon and it was huge. It ripped out 100ft on line in no time. The crew struggled to keep the boat straight the fish saw the boat and went nuts. The poor customer had his hands full and struggled to stay balanced while being pulled back. We all saw this fish as it swam left then right then down but we could not get it close enough to net. In the end this King Salmon broke our line and grabbed our favorite bait. The Offshore414 fished hard for 3 days under windy and rough conditions. We took out 5 groups ranging from first timers to seasoned hard core fisherman. We caught just under 50 fish most being nice size Coho's a Brown Trout and a few medium size King Salmon.
