Duck season is over, taxes are done, and the days are just a little bit longer. Starting to think flounder. I'm thinking 5 weeks to see the first one of the season, 2 months we'll be in 'em. Although the vaccine is encouraging, plan on the same plan as last year. All trips are private (much better), and plan on bringing your mask. I'll bring mine, a couple extras just in case, and hand sanitizer. I am upbeat and optimistic that we will put this challenge behind us and have a deeper appreciation for time spent in good company. Trips are already starting to book so if you plan to make plans now is the time. I hope to see you this summer, aloha!

Managed to get in a couple productive days before tropical storm rolled in and shut down open water fishing. Phone is ringing and schedule is beginning to fill so book those dates and let's get out in the sunshine and fresh air!

Virginia has opened charterboat fishing beginning May 15th. Some temporary guidelines have been implemented. Only single party charters will be allowed (not a problem as I only offer private trips). If all in party have sheltered together all good. If not then 6 feet of boat length must be allowed per person. If party is from out of state please let me know at time of reservation. If anyone in party is ill, trip will be cancelled no penalty. Vessel will be washed with bleach solution at conclusion of each trip, and wiped down with bleach solution prior to each trip. Sanitizer wipes are available throughout trip. Please provide your own face cover. Each angler must have one. As conditions improve restrictions will be relaxed. Chilly early spring conditions are not too cold as the first stripers continue to move in. Warmer temps for the coming week will have us looking for that first flounder of 2020. Stay tuna'd!

As winter passes much time being spent preparing for coming season. Scraping, painting and rigging help to pass the cold days, while getting out and finding a few fish on the nice days. Striped bass have already begun to show (probably never left given our mild winter). Will begin to prospect for flounder when water temperature hits 50 (currently 46).
