Fresh Captain Tim's Chincoteague Bay Adventures Fishing Reports
Turn On The Lights And Put The Sign In T
February 15, 2025
Although the north winds still blow, we're only a few short weeks away from those first flounder and stripers. Prospecting may begin as early as next week. The new motor is mounted, the new trailer is broken in, and Shadrunner awaits her spring painting and touch-up. We are working hard to hold the line on pricing to continue to offer the best in Affordable Family Fun Fishing! We have added a youth friendly 3 hour trip with competitive pricing and an emphasis on "catching" for the young anglers. Assateague/Chincoteague Bay Adventures has more reviews and a higher review rating than any other charter in the area. Bòok your trip and see why service and experience count. See you out there, Aloha!

Rockin' 2025!
December 31, 2024
As we turn the page on the calender, winter has begun to set in earnest. Water temps in the 30s have slowed the bite to a trickle, but the few fish we are catching are an impressive size, including this 30 incher (released) on New Years Eve. As the north winds howl, we have begun to set the table for the coming season. A new motor, new trailer, and all-Tackle update and rigging. All this to provide the angler the highest degree of performance and reliability possible. We are seeking a historical designation for "Shadrunner" as a working waterman's vessel. She's been a great old vessel and we hope to see her for many seasons to come. Our plan is no price increase for 2025 to continue our tradition of "Affordable Family Fun Fishing". We are hoping to get flounder fishing underway in mid March and hope you will join us. See you on the water, Aloha!

Rockin' November!
November 11, 2024
As can be expected, the days have shortened, the water has cooled, and the trout and redfish have moved on south. As the warm water fish move south, schools of striped bass (rockfish) are moving south to replace them. This can make for some fun cast and retrieve fishing right up to the new year. Add a few hold-out flounder and some hard pulling tautog around structure and you have the makings of an eventful early winter trip. We're looking at some pretty calm conditions the next couple of days. If you'd like to get one more trip in before the white stuff, now is the time. See you out there, Aloha!

The Hunt For Reds In October!
October 23, 2024
Balmy sundrenched fall mornings can only mean one thing- Poling the flats seeking redfish in the clear shallow waters between Assateague and Chincoteague. Large schools of mixed sized fish can present opportunities for multiple hookups, with long slug-it-out fights. A true opportunity to catch a trophy. Elsewhere about the islands, keeper sized flounder continue to bite, with seabass and porgies providing a fast bite on the bottom. Trout have started to move south and soon striped bass from up north will move in to replace them. We will continue to fish as far into the winter as weather permits, perhaps all the way through if the weather stays mild. Be sure to start booking those dates in April and May for spring flounder. See you on the water, Aloha!

Legends of the Fall- Salmon Fishing!
October 7, 2024
The first week of October we trade out the spinning Rods and boat for flyrod and waders as we head off to Lake Ontario for the King Salmon run. These incredibly powerful fish will test your knots, gear, forearms and shoulders to the breaking point. Keep us in mind for next fall if you'd like to try a one on one walk-in trip.

Time To Get Out That Flyrod!
September 21, 2024
As summer has officially passed on by, the fish of summer are replaced by hungry migrating ambush predators vulnerable to a well presented fly. Striped Bass, speckled trout, flounder and redfish will dominate the salt until the first good cold snap. King Salmon and Steelhead Rainbow Trout will invade Great Lakes Tributaries until the snow flies and beyond. We will continue to pursue all well into the winter. If you'd like to give it a try, bundle up, book a trip, and let's go. Weekends are popular but weekdays are best. We will be on Salmon River Oct. 7,8,9,. for. King Salmon run, and in Erie PA Nov. 4,5,6 for Steelhead run. Send message for more information on Great Lakes fishing. Aloha!
