As the fall fishing season moves upon us, we expand our opportunities. In addition to the improved local fishing we embark on a variety of field trips. The first week of October we'll be in Pulaski NY fishing for King and Coho Salmon on fly. First week of November is off to Erie PA. for Steelhead on both fly and spin. Additionally we will make numerous trips to Virginia Beach for canoe fishing for Redfish and Speckled Trout. Locally, the Speckled Trout have started to show and we are getting a bite on popping corks. Flounder are returning to inshore locations. This should improve as the water cools.

It's a little darker at the boat ramp in the morning, a little cooler. The signs of summer on the down slope are appearing. What a summer! To sum it up in one word- flounder. The bite has stayed consistent throughout the heat, and should only improve as we head into fall. A surprising bite of weakfish has kept the bay interesting, and we're waiting those first fall speckled trout to make a showing. Lots of openings for the weekends in the fall, so practice your casting, put on a jacket and let's go! Aloha

July has brought a second run of keeper sized flounder to the area. Usually flounder hold in deeper offshore waters during summer heat, but cooler temps and strong breezes have kept a good share of fish close to shore. Elsewhere the shark fishing continues to heat up and there are plenty of panfish (spot, croaker, whiting) present to keep the young ones interested. Aloha!

Finished the day with 11 keeper Flounder. Added to the 22 inch Trout and plump Striped Bass yesterday, I'd have to say all the wind and rain the last week has had minimal impact. Looking forward to a stretch of dry stable weather with plenty of bookings. There are still a few days left open in May if you're looking to book. Get out before it gets muggy, buggy and hot. Aloha!

Usually flounder season peaks in early May. The numbers on the current season would indicate that either we're peaking in mid April or else an incredible best is yet to come. Either way, numerous limits with some very nice fish (20 inch+) are to be had. A few very large dogfish have shown as well. These are hard fighting and great sport on a flounder rod. A weather day today allowing us to catch our breath after a week where the flounder and black drum poured into the Chincoteague area. A north wind today and tomorrow will hold things down but the bite should break back out as temps rise and winds settle (hopefully) as the week progresses. Still have some open dates week after next so don't ride the fence too long. Summer here we come! Aloha!
