Both Chinook strikes came on a custom “No Bananas” spoon running deep at 195 ft, dialed in tight just above the shelf. These were classic Campbell River fish — aggressive, thick-bodied, and built for battle. Igor was up first, locking into a deep-running slab that gave him a full 20-minute slugfest before surfacing. After an epic fight, he chose to release the Chinook with full respect — a true West Coast moment. Oleg followed with a war of his own. Four hard runs and deep dives later, he brought his fish to the boat clean, calm, and earned.
