The sea, always generous with those who respect it, decided to grant them both wishes, although it put us to the test with a strong wind that made the return a slow journey, but full of satisfaction. The afternoon began with the search for the banquet. We managed to secure three Rainbow Runners, those "rainbow runners" that not only give a fun fight, but are the secret ingredient for the most exquisite recipes. We could already smell the aroma of dinner rewarding the effort of the day. ✨ But the ocean had reserved the grand finale for us. Just as the sun began to give way, the figure everyone was waiting for emerged: a legendary fighter, the majestic Sailfish. His candle cutting the water was the climax of an afternoon where the family not only caught food, but forged a memory that the wind, no matter how strong it blew, will never be able to erase. From a Tricky Morning to a Golden Afternoon The sea is the best teacher of humility. We started the day with a Roosterfish who played with our patience; he appeared like a ghost after the bait, but at the last second, the dance was not completed. This is fishing: a window of opportunity that opens and closes in the blink of an eye. However, the Almighty always has a second act. In the afternoon, we received a group that soon became friends. They came with the elegance of Fly Fishing in mind, but the Pacific wind decided to get aggressive, challenging even the most experienced. Faced with a sea that did not allow the fly, we pivoted masterfully. We changed the strategy and the reward arrived: we tooked the surface two imposing Sailfish - one who attacked with fury and another who gave us a parade of curiosity near the helmet. To close with a flourish, a Mahi-Mahi came to greet us, reminding us that in these waters, life never stops. Thank you, God, for a day where the wind changed the plan, but not the destination. Fly Fishing Trip Today we went out on a fly fishing trip with a Finnish couple. Jouni, our client, brought his own fly fishing gear and was focused on targeting roosterfish using fly only. Due to strong winds, colder weather, and unusually cold water temperatures over the past few days, fishing conditions were challenging. As experienced local captain, I adjusted the plan and took our guests to the areas where fly fishing was possible under the day’s conditions. We fished throughout Palmares Bay and Bahía Culebra, covering different spots to maximize opportunities. Despite the tough conditions, we were able to land a jack and a cojinúa on fly. While we were unable to catch the target roosterfish, the guests enjoyed a full day on the water, exploring the area and making the most of the conditions. Fishing is always weather- and condition-dependent, and we always do our best to adapt and provide the best possible experience for our clients.
