Trip Summary

Headline: From a Tricky Morning to a Golden Afternoon The sea is the best teacher of humility. We started the day with a Roosterfish who played with our patience; he appeared like a ghost after the bait, but at the last second, the dance was not completed. This is fishing: a window of opportunity that opens and closes in the blink of an eye. However, the Almighty always has a second act. In the afternoon, we received a group that soon became friends. They came with the elegance of Fly Fishing in mind, but the Pacific wind decided to get aggressive, challenging even the most experienced. Faced with a sea that did not allow the fly, we pivoted masterfully. We changed the strategy and the reward arrived: we tooked the surface two imposing Sailfish - one who attacked with fury and another who gave us a parade of curiosity near the helmet. To close with a flourish, a Mahi-Mahi came to greet us, reminding us that in these waters, life never stops. Thank you, God, for a day where the wind changed the plan, but not the destination. Fishing Report: The Afternoon Turnaround • Technique: Adapted Precision Trolling (due to high winds) • Location: Nearshore / Offshore Transition • The Vibe: Resilience, new friendships, and divine timing. ? The Scoreboard: • 2 Sailfish Raised: One solid strike and one curious follower. • 1 Mahi-Mahi sighting: A flash of gold in the blue. • The Lesson: When the wind blocks the fly, the trolling rod finds the way. #FlyFishingChallenge #SailfishCostaRica #MathisLegends #PuraVida #FishingLife #OceanAdaptability #MahiMahi #AnglerApproved #SeaStories

THE FAITH RUN: When the Ocean Rewards the Brave When others saw a storm, we saw a miracle. The day began with the echo of the cancellations. “Bad weather,” they said. But there is a voice stronger than that of the forecast: that of the Father of Glory reminding us that He has the helm. With that conviction, we set sail an hour later than usual, not with doubts, but with armored hope. ✨ The wind, although strong, let us work. At 10:20 AM, the first Sailfish tore the horizon, reminding us that success belongs to those who dare to release moorings. Shortly after, the sea taught us a lesson in humility: a giant who decided to “do his own thing” and burst the line in the blink of an eye. ? But there was no room for lament, because the day was just beginning. By 12:45 PM, the bill was already talking for itself: four majestic Sailfish that gave us respectable fights and moments of pure adrenaline. What started as a “lost” day ended as an epic session. In the end, it wasn’t just fishing; it was a demonstration that when you trust the process, the results are simply heavenly. Fishing Report: The "Faith Over Fear" Session * Technique: Precision Trolling * Location: Costa Rican Pacific * The Vibe: Resilient, faithful, and triumphant. The Scoreboard: * 4/5 Sailfish Released: High-energy battles in record time. * The Lesson: Don’t let a forecast dictate your glory. Trust the Captain, trust the Sea. #FaithAndFishing #SailfishCostaRica #MathisLegends #NeverGiveUp #SportfishingLife #PuraVida #OceanMiracles #AgainstAllOdds

When the "Big Leagues" meet the Costa Ri

THE PACIFIC REALITY CHECK: More than just a Boat When the "Big Leagues" meet the Costa Rican Salt. There seems to be a common symptom among fishermen who have traveled the world: overconfidence. Many arrive believing that, having sailed in other latitudes, they already know all the tricks of the "Old Sea Wolf". But the Costa Rican Pacific does not read resumes or be impressed by the size of the boats; here, the only thing that counts is the real connection with the water. Having a boat doesn't make you a captain, like having a rod doesn't make you a fisherman. The sea welcomed us with a quick lesson: a Sailfish that attacked with fury and, with the same elegance with which he arrived, said goodbye leaving the line loose. It was the "entry tax" for our visitor. But the ocean also knows how to reward persistence. After probing our trust points, the crack sang again. This time, the trophy was an atypical Sailfish, a true living work of art with vibrant hues that lit up its belly and main candle in a natural neon display. As a great character of our land would say: ¡Qué belleza de animal! A jewel that reminded us that, in these waters, the sea always has the last word. Fishing Report: The Humble Masterclass * Technique: Precision Trolling * Location: Offshore, Costa Rica * The Vibe: Reality checks and unexpected beauty. Catch of the Day: * 1 Atypical Sailfish: Unique iridescent coloration (Released). * 1 Lost Battle: A reminder to never lower the guard. #CostaRicaFishing #Sailfish #OldSeaWolf #MathisLegends #PuraVida #Sportfishing #OffshoreAdventure #QueBellezaDeAnimal #AnglerApproved
