Trip Summary

July fishing forecast predicts a chookie mayhem, coho fireworks, and pink salmon on the way! Campbell River is ? right now. The salmon bite is full throttle, and this month is shaping up to be one of the best we’ve seen in years. Here’s what we’re catching at TD Coastal Adventures: ? Chinook (King) – 15–25 lbs and hitting deep! Tyee-class fish showing up daily. Spoons and anchovy rigs are dialed in at 130–180 ft. ? Coho (Silver) – First hatchery fish have arrived and they’re wild! Fast, aggressive, and crushing gear. Doubles and triples are happening when you find the schools. ? Lingcod & Rockfish – Bottom fishing is solid on the reefs when the tides play nice. Vertical jigs and bait combos are putting meat in the box. ? Halibut – Surprise slabs showing up on our full-day combos. Always a welcome bonus! ? COMING SOON: BIG PINK SALMON RETURN Late July will bring waves of pinks — aggressive, fast-paced action perfect for light tackle and family fun. Forecasts show a strong return this year, so get ready for bent rods and big smiles. ? We’re fishing productive lanes off Mitlenatch Island, Cape Mudge, and the Green Can drift zones. We follow the bait and the birds — because that’s where the action is. ? Captain Dan’s Tip: “Fish deep, fish bold. July rewards the ones who adapt fast and stay in the zone. If you’re not marking bait, move — the bite is there if you find it.” ? Prime spots are filling fast. ? Weekends: Almost gone ? Weekdays: Morning departures still open ?️ All charters launch from Dock D – Discovery Marina ✅ 3, 5 & 8-hour trips ✅ All gear, bait, and fish care included ✅ Great for first-timers, hardcore anglers & families ⸻ ? AUGUST TEASER – THE FEEDING FRENZY BUILDS August brings stacked schools of Coho, stronger pink numbers, and the arrival of big, late-run Chinook. It’s when things go from hot… to ? full-on fire. If July is the warm-up, August is the main event. ? Expect faster action, more variety, and a real chance at your bucket list Chinook in calm summer seas. ? This is your time to get on the water. ⸻ ? Book now through Fishbooker or message Captain Dan direct. The tides are right. The fish are here. Let’s go. ? TD COASTAL ADVENTURES – WHERE SALMON LEGENDS BEGIN

“The Rod, The Song, The Chinook” ? TD Coastal Adventures – Campbell River, BC ?️ July 20 Sunset Charter ? “Dust in the Wind” playing as the reel screamed… ⸻ Some trips leave you with fish. This one left us all with goosebumps. The sea was glass. Sunset glowing behind the islands. The kind of evening where the water holds its breath. Mark and his family were on board The Barb, chasing memory, chasing meaning. He said to me, quietly: “All I want is to fight one good Chinook before the light fades.” Not even five minutes later… Bang. Rod down. Reel ripping. The No Bananas Spoon we’d set at 120 ft in 140 ft of water went off like a cannon. Mark got his fight. And the Chinook didn’t give it up easy. It dove, it twisted, it tail-walked and slammed the rod like a steel freight train from the deep. He fought it like a warrior—and he won. But that’s not what made this night legendary. A second rod popped. Another big fish. Mark’s teenage son looked unsure. It was quiet. You could hear the wind stop. I leaned over and said: “Step up, son. This is your moment.” He did. And with the whole family watching, he fought that Chinook like he was born to guide. 14 lbs. 75 cm. Keeper. A memory burned into the soul of that boy forever. ⸻ ? Here’s what you need to know: • Location: Lighthouse Ledge • Depth: Fishing 120 ft in 140 ft of water • Lure: Custom No Bananas Spoon • Result: Two epic Chinooks. One legendary family moment. One fisherman became a father. One son became a man. ⸻ ⚠️ The big Chinooks are here NOW. You’re either on the boat… Or you’re reading someone else’s fishing story. ? July & August are almost fully booked. ? Private charters only – 4, 5, and 6-hour trips available. ? All gear, tackle, and fish cleaning included. ? Depart from Slip 27, D-Dock – 1374 Island Hwy, Campbell River ? Book now through Fishbooker or text Captain Dan directly. ? Catch the moment. Live the legend. — Captain Dan TD Coastal Adventures “Rod bends. Soul mends.”

? TD Coastal Adventures – Fishing Report ? The Hump – Lower Section, Campbell River BC ?️ July 15, 2025 ? Target Species: Chinook Salmon ? Lure: Custom No Bananas Spoon ? Depth: 195 ft ? Zone: The Fish Highway ⸻ Report: The Fish Highway was firing today off the lower section of The Hump, and two seasoned guests — Oleg and Igor from Toronto — made it count in true TD Coastal fashion. Both Chinook strikes came on a custom “No Bananas” spoon running deep at 195 ft, dialed in tight just above the shelf. These were classic Campbell River fish — aggressive, thick-bodied, and built for battle. Igor was up first, locking into a deep-running slab that gave him a full 20-minute slugfest before surfacing. After an epic fight, he chose to release the Chinook with full respect — a true West Coast moment. Oleg followed with a war of his own. Four hard runs and deep dives later, he brought his fish to the boat clean, calm, and earned. Both strikes hit within the same hour — clear sign that the Chinook are staging deep and tight on the bait lanes. The key takeaway today? ? Fish deep. Troll slow. Stay on the seam. And if you’ve got a No Bananas spoon — use it. If not, book with Captain Dan and I’ll bring one. ⸻ Current Notes: • Bait balls showing tight to bottom in 180–210 ft • Best bite time: 7:30–9:15 AM • Tide swing: Moderate flood tide • Water clarity: Good • Wildlife seen: Eagles, porpoises, and one curious seal ⸻ Captain’s Note: “This wasn’t just a good day — it was a day the sea remembers. Oleg and Igor brought patience, power, and respect. That’s what Chinook fishing on the coast is all about.” — ? Now Booking: Chinook runs continue strong through late July. ? Sunset Big Fish, Morning Missions, and Salmon & Seals charters available. ? **hidden content** |
