Trip Summary

Opening Day Highlights: Chinook & Coho The wait is over! Today marks the official opening day for Chinook salmon in Campbell River, and the bite was nothing short of spectacular. Anglers aboard the Boston Whaler Conquest with Fishing Storie Charters enjoyed a full day of action, with Chinook weighing up to 35 lbs landed throughout the day. With the new unrestricted size limit for Chinook and the daily limit increased to 2 per angler, this season is shaping up to be one of the best in years. Coho salmon are now open as well, providing exciting opportunities for both novice and experienced anglers. These wild Coho were caught trolling herring and spoons in the river mouth and adjacent channels, giving guests a thrilling mix of both Chinook and Coho on the same trip.
