Trip Summary

On June 1, we headed south from Cabo San Lucas. Upon reaching approximately 8 miles offshore, we encountered an active school of sailfish feeding aggressively on our trolling lures and baits. The action quickly resulted in a successful catch-and-release sailfish. Continuing east, the bite remained strong. We had multiple hookups, including two mahi mahi and another sailfish. We successfully landed both mahi mahi, while the sailfish managed to escape. As we continued along the same track, we hooked two additional sailfish, but both threw the hooks during the fight. The action continued offshore when we hooked and landed a striped marlin, a trophy fish worthy of preservation. On the run back toward Cabo, approximately 3 miles off Cabeza de Ballena, the day reached another level when we encountered a group of marlin and experienced an incredible triple marlin hookup. After exciting battles, three striped marlin were successfully released healthy. ⸻ Conditions: * Outstanding offshore fishing conditions * Active schools of billfish throughout the area * Excellent blue water and ideal water temperatures * Consistent action from multiple pelagic species ⸻ Summary: An unforgettable offshore adventure featuring: * 2 mahi mahi landed * 1 sailfish released * 3 striped marlin released * 1 striped marlin landed * 3 additional sailfish hookups A truly world-class day on the water, showcasing why Cabo San Lucas remains one of the premier billfish destinations in the world. ????

June 13, 2026
On June 13, we began trolling approximately 2 miles off Cabeza de Ballena, where we immediately found exceptional billfish activity. Throughout the morning, we observed numerous striped marlin cruising and feeding on the surface. We made several live bait presentations, casting baits directly in front of the fish in an effort to trigger a bite. While working the area, a mahi mahi struck one of our baits and was successfully landed and brought aboard. As the day progressed, the marlin activity only increased. We encountered groups of marlin throughout the fishing grounds, including several occasions where three striped marlin were feeding on the surface at the same time. We presented both live bait and rigged dead bait, but the fish remained extremely selective. By the end of the trip, we had cast to approximately 15 different striped marlin, an incredible amount of billfish activity for a single day, though none of them committed to the baits. ⸻ Conditions: * Outstanding striped marlin activity * Multiple fish feeding on the surface * Good water conditions along the coastline * Highly selective billfish behavior ⸻ Summary: An exciting offshore day featuring: * 1 mahi mahi landed * 15 striped marlin sightings * Multiple live bait and dead bait presentations * Several multi-marlin encounters While the marlin refused to bite, the sheer number of fish encountered made for a memorable day on the water and showcased the incredible billfish activity currently taking place in Cabo waters. ?????
