Trip Summary
Trip Summary
On the afternoon of June 8, we departed Cabo San Lucas running a heading of 90°. As we passed Cabeza de Ballena, we spotted a striped marlin on the surface and presented live bait, but the fish refused to bite.
Upon reaching the 3-mile line offshore, we continued east and after covering approximately 2 additional miles, we hooked two mahi mahi simultaneously. Both fish were brought to the boat, with one being released due to its smaller size and the other retained.
Continuing along the same track, we encountered exceptional billfish activity. Approximately eight striped marlin aggressively followed and struck the trolling lures, but none remained hooked.
We pushed farther east toward Palmilla, where the action continued. In that area, three dorado and one wahoo attacked the spread, but unfortunately none stayed connected long enough to be landed.
Despite the challenging hookup ratio, the amount of pelagic activity throughout the trip was outstanding and kept the crew busy all afternoon.
