Hello Anglers, Finally after fishing for 21 days I have a chance to get a catching report out to all of you anxious to wet a hook. With the inshore water warming the larger bottom fish moved offshore where the temperature is more suitable at depths of 100 to 150 feet. The recent trips 50 miles offshore have been producing nice catches of Scamp Grouper, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Black and Snowy Grouper, Big Trigger fish, Vermillion Snapper, Mango Snapper and Amberjack. On a recent trip one group caught a 38" Scamp and a 25" Gag, limited out on Vermillion Snapper, wore themselves out on many 50lb Amberjack. The youngster in the group wanted a shark and what a shark they got with a 400lb Nurse Shark. I had a young man out celebrating his 70th birthday and matched his age with a 70lb Amberjack, these Reef Donkeys will wear out the most fit angler.. After boating the fish he handed the rod to my mate Terrell and said he is done. This past week we have put several Kings in the box and have had numerous knock downs, short bites and rocketing displays from some nice smokers. Closer to shore the anglers are catching plenty of fish just not many to take home.
