Trip Summary

Mike & Angie from Texas joined us for a couple of days Fishing in Costa Rica this week aboard GOOD DAY. The Fishing proved to be a bit slow but we had a great time out there & were kept entertained by the Dolphins, Turtles, Manta Rays, Flying Fish & quite a lot of tailing Sailfish that did not want to eat a bait. Day 1 Angie caught a nice Bull Dorado & missed a Sailfish Found two Tuna & Spinner Dolphin Schools but we could not get a bite out of them on the Livebait, Jigs & Poppers. The Tuna were stuffing themselves on the large lanternfish bait schools that were on the surface. Day 2 We fished 37 miles out today & Mike released a nice Sailfish & we were unlucky to lose 2 more (5 Sail bites total). In the final 90 minutes we found the megaload of bait, an area about half a mile wide was just loaded with baitfish in the top 200 feet. Too much bait perhaps, as the Sailfish were just not interested in our Ballyhoo’s. Tomorrow is another day, we are heading back out there!
