Trip Summary
The last few days the YB Normal sport fishing charter out of Fort Lauderdale Florida has been chartered by some great customers with some great fishing we have been catching kingfish and some bonitos with a nice beginning season of mahi or dolphin. We usually start trolling with 3 surface baits consisting of seawitches and bonito strips as well as some ballyhoo, we also use planners to take baits down deep. Kingfish and bonito have been biting on the reefs as well as a few blackfin tuna which is a great eating fish for sushi. Further offshore in waters as deep as **hidden content** feet there has been a few mahi mahi around, these are great gamefish that jump and have awsome color, they are also great table fair, what is unique about Fort Lauderdale and the great deep sea fishing is to travel out to 700 feet of water you only need to be about 3 miles from shore which makes this very possible to travel to in a half day charter, the mahi we have been catching have been on the smaller side but there are some nicer ones mixed in, these fish can be located near the surface on floating sargassum weed which holds bait fish.
Now the bottom fishing continues to be very good for golden tilefish. We like to break the day up with some trolling and sometimes we do some deep dropping for these great tasting fish, today we caught some tilefish close to 20lbs, they have such great colors and really are a cool fish. If your ever in the Fort Lauderdale area and are looking to go fishing look us up we will gladly take you out for a great day of fishing off Fort Lauderdale
