Trip Summary

Most people think of fishing, and automatically they think they can only catch plenty of fish in the hot summer months. But if your in South Louisiana, winter Fishing is just as hot as summer fishing. The fish move from the shallow flats into deeper canals and bays during the winter to stay warm, making it easier to target them. There is very little fishing pressure on them due to the lack of fishermen out on the waters this time of year. The marina was nearly empty. The day started out chilly. We had a cool 45 degree south east wind blowing at 10 kts. The clients were a little worried about the weather conditions, but the action soon heated up for these guys as they were reeling in their catch. In less than 4 hours, they had caught yheir limit of 50 speckled trout and 10 redfish. Like most people, they had no idea they could catch so many fish this time of year. What a great trip these guys had fishing with Capt John's Fin-tastic Charters.
