Excellent Fishing to start peak season

Trip Summary

May as usual had awesome fishing and weather. It is always exciting to have such a great start to the season. As many of you know the government implicated a new to this season only, south coast, seasonal Chinook Salmon non retention rule to politically satisfy a certain few groups. This has not deterred most of my charters as many know or trusted we will still have an amazing experience, catch lots of fish and go home with fish! Every group that came out has praised the fact they still came fishing despite not taking home all the Chinooks they catch. Luckily the bottom fishing has been AMAZING! 8 hr charters have gone home with their quick limits or the amount of bottom fish they would like to bring home. Brag Board Challenge Update We have ramped up our Brag Board with a friendly competition between guests until Chinook retention re opens July 15th (could be earlier). We now have 10 big prizes for the 10 top most released Chinooks on a charter. Prizes include a free fishing trip, golf package, $100+ gift cards and more! Coho Salmon Opens June 1st June marks the start of Coho season. The Coho move in like clock work every year usually starting at our furthest spots. When they arrive they meet the hatch of the herring and start to pack on the pounds. The first month of their arrival its not uncommon to catch 30+ Coho in a single charter if targeted!

Latest Update For Island Pursuit Sport Fishing Spring has sprung and it seems we are getting out of the grasp of the Covid-19 pandemic. During the last couple months we had to halt sport fishing operations to join the effort in stopping transmission of the virus. Fortunately I was able to pick up some work with my off-season commercial fishing job. On Wednesday May 6th, the B.C government announced their official phase in plan. We will be able to restart local operations May 15th. Reports from people personal fishing have been fantastic and we can't wait to begin again. This week I will be focusing on getting my boat in the water and creating new crew and guest protection procedures. Fishing Charters With Covid-19 Safety Measures Steps we will be taking to provide the safest and best service on the coast! ▪ All charters are private groups of 1-5 people ▪ All surfaces and handled fishing equipment will be regularly sanitized ▪ Hand sanitizer will be provided ▪ All spaces are free airflow and outdoors ▪ Air high-5's will be encouraged!
