Every few years Rodman is drawn down to clear vegetation to make for better bedding conditions for the monster bass population. By mid November the lake should be at its lowest and the fishing is just nuts! Consider taking 9,500 acres of world class bass fishing and packing it in an area drawn down over 10 feet! There's a reason at that time it's catch and release only. This also makes for spectacular speck/crappie fishing. From about now till mid November the best option is to go through the Buckman Lock. Be mindful of the lock schedule, it doesn't change and doesn't care if you're late!
