Trip Summary

Matt & Ashley from Wyoming joined us for day 2 & 3 of their fishing adventure, this time we were aboard SWORDFISH as we put GOOD DAY in the yard for a couple of days maintenance. Day 2 Released 4 Sailfish including 1 on Fly 11 Sailfish raised in total The guys had a great time learning to bait & switch fish for Billfish with circle hooks & ballyhoos. At one point they had a double header of Sailfish on each teaser which provided some great visual action close to the boat. Ashley hooked a Sailfish but was unlucky when it threw the hook. We switched gear to Fly in the afternoon & had 3 chances at SailFish on the Fly with Matt releasing his first ever Billfish on the Fly, a Sail estimated 85lb & 90”. To say Matt was over the moon was an understatement! Day 3 The plan today was 100% Offshore Fly Fishing and to try and get Ashley a Billfish on the Fly. At 10.30am in the morning on her second opportunity at a Sailfish Ashley caught & released her first Billfish on the Fly, success & huge smiles all around! We continued the day on the Fly searching for a Marlin, Dorado or more Sails. We had a great 90 mins of action around lunchtime with back to back Sailfish raises but they were skittish on the teasers and we could not get any more hookups. Day 3 catch report 1 Sailfish on the Fly Raised 12 Sailfish total & 2 Dorado Huge thanks to Capt. Randy Morales of SWORDFISH for helping us out for a couple of days & putting us on the fish. Excellent boat, which we use a lot. Today is the 4th & final day for Matt & Ashley and we are going on an Inshore mission, wish us luck!
