The best odds of catching the biggest fish of the year are right now. Texoma striper are fishing so incredibly good it is unreal! Everybody always wants big fish and we certainly get them throughout the year but right now in the coldest part of winter we are getting them really consistently and all on artificials. The crappie bite at Lewisville is also going going nuts. Best I have seen in quite some time numbers wise. A good mix of some 13-14" slabs are being caught as well. Artificial jigs and hand ties are also the secret to that right now. It may seem cold but the winds are going to be looking light this whole weekend. A couple of layers of clothes, a beanie and thick socks mixed in with some hot fishing and you'll forget all about the winter. These patterns should hold through the beginning of March and then we will begin chasing the spawn which is also an incredible time! Spring break is also around the corner and that's usually the kick off of busy season but until then big fish are going to be the target!
