snapper and grouper
Went offshore today with Bill, Joe and Paul. Day started off with a pre sunrise lightning show with a storm sitting just outside redfish pass. In typical pattern, once the sun came up, the storm dissipated. We spent some time catching a mixed variety of live baits via sabiki which included pinfish, spot tails and squirrel fish. We headed out to 110 in search of fish. The bite was a slow and steady pick all day. We didn’t have any crazy moments of mayhem, rather a day where patience was tried.
We picked away at Lane and Vermillion snapper from 70 ft on out to 120. The grouper out deep had lockjaw, with the keepers coming in 70 ft and 90 ft respectfully.
Lots of short throwback RGs, alone with the snapper and a handful of grunts.
All in all a good day out on the water with some great people. Look forward to getting out with you guys again.
