2022 OFFSHORE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! The 2022 Offshore World Championship got underway today here at Marina Pez Vela Costa Rica. 37 teams from 19 countries have descended on our small town of Quepos/Manuel Antonio all hoping to be crowned Offshore World Champions by the end of this week. Fishing takes place over 4 days and teams change boats each day that were selected in a lottery type draw. All boats are Costa Rica charter boats and we will fish at least 3 of the 4 days, some boats have to have a day off to act as a backup boat for breakdowns etc. Joel, Jaqueline & Max from Miami joined us aboard GOOD DAY & ended up with 2 Sailfish, lost another 2 and missed 1, for 5 Sailfish raised in total plus a nice Bull Dorado that threw the hook. Congrats to 14 year old Max for releasing his first Pacific Sailfish of 99”. We are fishing our first tournament today with Team Portugal, followed by Brazil Wednesday & Jamaica Thursday. 12 Sailfish, 2 Marlin & a Dorado took the top spot today!! Huge congrats to all the winners & looking forward to getting in on the action tomorrow!! ???
