Dolphin (Mahi Mahi)

Tuna (Blackfin)
Trip Summary
Trip Summary
We had a great group of guys fish with me for 2 days. The first day we decided to head offshore looking for dolphin and tuna. Dolphin fishing has been pretty tough lately so we decided to head straight to the hump for the tuna while keeping a sharp eye out for dolphin. Once we arrive at the hump it was game on. Didn't take long when we started to hear the reels screaming, trolling small feathers. After a box full of tuna, we decided to look for more dolphin on the way home. Before we knew it the reel started screeming, a big yellowfin tuna. We fought him for about 30 minutes and lost him to a shark. The guys ended up with 7 gallon bags of tuna and took some to the local restaurants to cook up!
The second day was very windy and we decided to run in the backcountry for a little change of scenery. We caught a ton of sea trout and a few other species, but made a great day of catching.
