Well a good couple of days again with Capt. Trent. Fishing in the morning with Mike who had texted me a couple days before asking about fishing for tarpon. I told him January wasn't always a great time and we had somewhat chilly water but that if he wanted to maybe 'fish the conditions' patch reef fishing would likely be a good option with it being flat calm. Sure enough it was and they hammered various snapper, grouper, porgy, and more. With an hour left to kill they tried for tarpon around the bridges alas with no luck, but a good effort was made. Capt. Trent loaded them up with tons of pilchards and did all he could. But again tarpon can be tough in the winter time especially when the water temps are below 75 degrees. Anyways it was lovely to get a nice text message thanking me for the recommendation of Capt. Trent! He also fished in the afternoon with a walkup customer and did a similar game plan with similar results! If you want to get out give us a try!
