Trip Summary

Conditions were pretty windy but we managed to get out into the backcountry here in the lower Keys and actually had a couple of decent days of fishing both Friday and Saturday. On Friday we did some drifting and jig pitching and managed to catch quite a few ladyfish and an assortment of snappers ranging from lane and mangrove to mutton snappers. On Saturday we returned to the backcountry and again caught a bunch of mutton snapper and capped the day off doing battle with a huge Bull Shark that lasted over an hour. It looks as thought the winds will be cooperating this upcoming week and with spring approaching, the fishing will be getting better by the day as the water warms and the temperatures rise!
