Trip Summary

Lower Niagara River and Lake Ontario surface temperature was 48°. Winds were supposed to be calm in the morning, but they didn't settle until early afternoon. Lake was too rough to troll plugs. So we fished the river using 3 ways and live bait to take brown trout and artificial baits for bass. Once the lake calmed down, we were able to get out on the Canadian side of the Niagara bar where water was cleaner and trolled maglips in 22 feet of water to catch lake trout, brown trout and cohos we also went out to 4 mile creek where we also picked up cohos. Niagara was running dirty but fishable.
