Trip Summary

Fishing out of carrabelle has been good after a stormy winter and spring. For trout targeting the grass flats and sandy pot holes with popping corks and berkley gulp shrimp on a jig head has been the go to set up. When the weather cooperates sight fishing redfish on the shallow grass flats and beaches has been good. Otherwise blind casting likely areas with soft plastic flukes on a jighead, aqua dream gold spoons and rapala subwalks/twitch baits will do the trick. Early morning topwater bite is always an exciting way to hook up, zara spooks in bone are my favorite, but red and white and chartresuse and white work just as well. If you have never learned how to "walk the dog" with a suface lure, do so, its a blast watching a big trout or redfish blow up on your lure.
