Snapper (Mangrove)
Trip Summary
Trip Summary
What a memorable day! We lost this nice redfish that measured 27" on the dot around a pylon covered in barnacles !!
We saw our float with the 20lb florocarbon leader still attached to the fish surface about 20 yds from us and it was swimming back and forth down the bank. We used the minn kota trolling motor to silently cruise over to it within casting range. I had my client stand on the bow with the cushioned seadek, I gave him a rod with just a 3/8oz jig head and our BG2000 reels and explained to him to flick it out and attempt to hook the the leader or float. After several attempts we were able to hook the float and leader , wrap it up into a knot and pull this nice redfish back into open water. Once we re- hooked this fish the fight back on !!
A short quick run and right into the net! Mission accomplished. I definitely prefer to catch these beautiful fish the more casual way but we were determine do boat her. More great memories and Adventures!
