Rockcod for Everyone

Trip Summary

Family from Colorado fishing the Pacific Ocean. We started fishing for Rockcod because they are great eating. WE also were catching Sandabs in the same location. Then we went offshore about 6 miles trolling for a Mako Shark for about 1.5 hours with no signs so we moved close to shore to fish for Bass. Well we caught a total; of 34 fish for the day for 4 people.

Left the slip at 8:00 AM and stopped at the bait dock for live Sardines. We already had squid for bait also. Cruised out for 3 miles and put the trolling jigs in the water in hopes of getting Some Bonito. We hooked up within 15 mintes and the young son fought the fish fopr about 10 minutes. He was very Happy. We then close to shore to anchor up and fish for Bass, Sheepshead, Calico Bass, Ocean White Fish. We caught them all. Fun day for everyone.

Left the slip at 8:00 AM, stop at the bait dock for a scoop of live Sardines. Traveled 3 miles off shore looking for Bonito but only found White Side Dolphin but they put on a great show for us while they were feeding right next to the boat. Then we went close to shore to anchor up and started catch Bass right away. Then some Big Sculpin were landed for dinner that night. Everyone caught fish and it was fun for all.

Left the slip at 8:00 am stopped at the bait dock for live sardines for bait then 45 min cruise on flat seas to the Hot Spot. We caught 22 fish and took 4 home for dinner
