Rockcod for Everyone

Trip Summary

Family from Colorado fishing the Pacific Ocean. We started fishing for Rockcod because they are great eating. WE also were catching Sandabs in the same location. Then we went offshore about 6 miles trolling for a Mako Shark for about 1.5 hours with no signs so we moved close to shore to fish for Bass. Well we caught a total; of 34 fish for the day for 4 people.

With a light mist in the air we stop at the bait dock for do really great Chovy’s for bait. We then headed south for .40 minutes and started fishing for Rockcod. After trying 3 spots They two really nice Rockcod and some Sand dabs. We had dinner so we moved in shore to catch Calico Bass. Well the Brithday boy Hunter. Caught the biggest Calico over 17” we have seennin a really long time. Then back it up with the second large Calico of the day. It was the biggest fish he has every caught. A fun family to fish with.

5 Hour charter with hopes of Big Fish had to settle for small Calico Bass, Sand Dabs and a Nice Sheepshead. We did see a California grey Whale Blow near us buy he quickly took a deep dive and gone forever. Lots of Sea Lions in the Harbor and some offshore for the Kids.
