Trip Summary

Saturday's fishing started off tough but ended up making up for it on the second half of the trip. We ran into some thick fog early in the morning as we made our way to a couple of spots outside of the harbor. We fished at the first spot for about 15 minutes before we managed to get a fish to eat the hook. We could see legal calicos and barracuda swimming around the boat but were reluctant to bite. They would swim right up to our live sardines then turn away. Finally, the current picked up and it was like someone flipped a switch. We started getting consistent bites in that spot and a few others. Ended the day with 6 calicos, 1 sand bass, 1 barracuda, 1 sculpin, hand full of mackerel, and a smooth hound shark. All fish were safely released , with the exception of 1 calico and 1 sand bass. Not a bad way to start the fall fishing season.
