Trip Summary

Colder water means slower fishing. Typically Nov-May we target Rock Fish, Halibut, Sculpin, Sheepshead, White Fish, Calico Bass, Sand Bass and and White Sea Bass. A nice halibut or white sea bass is a prize. The water is cold during these months and every day is completely different because of a half dozen or more factors. Mako amd Thresher Sharks typically start to show in the Spring. They have not showed up recently. THE blue Sharks usually start showing before the Makos.Yesterday we saw tons of Dolphins playing just a few feet away from the boat. Fishing was slow but tomorrow it might be great! Always fun to see everything Dana Point has to show off on its breathtaking coastline. If you want to go big during early winter - swordfish. Very rare to catch one but they are out there.
