Slicked out

Trip Summary

It was a warm foggy morning in Northeast Florida with not a puff of wind to be found. The forecast called for light winds mid day and highs around 80 degrees. The week prior we were threatened with the possibility of snow and below freezing temperatures which had me concerned the fish were still lethargic. To my surprise I slid into my first spot at low tide just as the morning fog burned off and revealed a beautiful sight of waking Redfish all over oyster bars and grass points in the Intracoastal. The couple of warmer days leading up to our trip day must have helped bring the redfish back to a more aggressive state as these fish were hungry! We fished soft plastic lures on light tackle and managed to coax a few nice redfish and trout to the boat in quick fashion. As the tide slowly filled in the next couple of hours our active fish seemed to slow their feed but we enjoyed an absolutly banner weather day for being out on the water.
