Trip Summary
Today was an absolute blast out on the water with Vicki and the crew. February is a great time of year for fishing here, with the Spotted Seatrout and Red Drum (Red Fish) really active in the mild conditions. We met up at 7 AM and couldn't wait to get the lines in the water and see what the day had in store.
As soon as we got set up and started working the flats, the fish started hitting. Vicki was the first one to hook up, her rod bending over as she battled a nice Spotted Seatrout. After a solid fight, she brought it in, and we got a good look at the beautiful spotted pattern before carefully releasing it. Not long after, one of the other anglers hooked into a nice Red Drum that had us all cheering as it made a few good runs. The action kept up steadily throughout the morning, with everyone getting in on the fun.
The weather was just perfect - sunny skies, light winds, and comfortable temperatures made for an incredibly pleasant day on the water. Between the steady bites and the beautiful scenery, it was one of those trips that just felt right. Even when we didn't have fish on, we were able to kick back, enjoy the view, and have some great conversations. That's what makes these trips so special - it's not just about the number of fish, but the whole experience of being out on the water together.
