Redfish
Trip Summary
Trip Summary
Location: Jacksonville, FL – St. Johns River & Intracoastal Waters
Conditions: Water temps hovering around the mid-60s, with clarity improving thanks to lighter winds and stable tides. Recent warm fronts have pushed fish into a more active feeding pattern.
Morning Bite:
Redfish have been staging in the shallows early, pushing up onto mudflats to warm up as the sun hits the water. Targeting 2-3 feet of water near oyster bars and grass lines has been productive. Live shrimp and mud minnows under a popping cork are drawing steady strikes, but for those who like to finesse, soft plastics in natural colors are getting plenty of attention. The reds are keyed in on smaller bait, so downsizing your presentation is the key.
