Trip Summary

We had a fantastic day out on the water with Sergio Betancourt and the crew, exploring the best fishing spots around Rio Hondo, TX. It was a beautiful day, with partly cloudy skies and ideal conditions for a productive fishing adventure. As we headed out, I knew we were in for a treat – March is a prime time for targeting Spotted Seatrout and Redfish in these waters. The fish are actively feeding, and the mild weather makes for comfortable time on the boat. We started the day with some deep sea fishing, working a variety of lures and live bait to entice the big ones. It didn't take long before we started hooking into some nice Spotted Seatrout, their shimmering sides flashing as they put up a great fight. The action just kept getting better as we shifted to some light tackle jigging and drift fishing. The Redfish were really fired up, eagerly smashing our offerings and giving us some incredible runs. Sergio and the group were all smiles, reeling in fish after fish and filling our cooler with some quality keepers. Between the steady bites and the beautiful scenery, it was the perfect day to be out on the water. It was a beautiful June morning when Brent and their crew joined us for a 5 Hour (AM) Bay Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. The weather was partly cloudy throughout the day, but the waters were in great condition, perfect for our planned mix of jigging, light tackle, and drift fishing. We wasted no time getting the lines in the water and started working the area with a variety of techniques. It wasn't long before the rods started bending, and we began pulling in some feisty Spotted Sea Trout fish put up a great fight, making impressive runs and keeping us on our toes. We settled into a steady rhythm, rotating through the different methods and covering various depths to find the active fish. The trip had a great vibe, with Brent and their crew enjoying the experience and having fun while we worked hard to put them on the fish. In between catches, we'd share stories and jokes, making the most of our time on the water. While we didn't limit out on any one species, the variety of fish we encountered kept the action steady and the energy high. day's 5 Hour (AM) Bay Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures was an absolute blast. I met up with Keith and their crew early that morning down in South Padre Island, TX, excited to get them out on the water and into some action. May is a prime time for bay fishing down in this area, with Spotted Seatrout and Redfish both actively feeding in the shallows. The weather was looking good—partly cloudy throughout the day, with some light winds to keep us comfortable. As we launched the boat and headed out, the water conditions were excellent, clear and calm, giving us great visibility to spot any baitfish or cruising gamefish. We started the day using a mix of jigging, light tackle, and drift fishing techniques, working different depths and structures to find where the fish were holding. It didn't take long before the rods started bending—Keith and the crew were into some solid Spotted Sea trout and redfish putting up great fights and keeping us on our toes. In between those hookups, we managed to land a few Seatrout and Redfish as well, adding some more variety to the box. The action stayed steady throughout the morning, with plenty of quality fish coming over the rails. Beyond just the great fishing, the real highlight was the positive energy and camaraderie of the group. Everyone was engaged, cheering each other on, and just genuinely having a fantastic time out on the water. That's what makes these trips so special—it's not just about the number of fish you catch, but the overall experience of being out on the water, enjoying the day with good company.
