The winds laid down some, and i switched gears. I grabbed dead bait just in case, but i went a different direction with speckled trout on my mind. These are longtime customers of mine, and i know they are down to work for the fish. We tied on artificial baits under a cork, and away we went. We found good moving water with a little bit of bait, and that was a wrap.

This guy calls me up while he's in town and wants to fish regardless of the weather. The winds are howling 20mph plus, but the tides are rising, and i know a few places to duck out the wind. We found a few ponds that had just enough water to get into and went to work. Throwing dead shrimp under a cork was the go-to for sure. We got his limit and a handful of catch and release fish for a fun day fighting the winds. Dont miss out. There's nothing better to me than to leave as a unit and come back in as a unit. Capt. Mike and myself have been working together now for over 12 years. We work together as a team from the time we leave the dock until we return back to the dock. In constant contact on the VHF radio, we communicate very well discussing things like water clarity, water movement, amount of bait in each area and when one person get on fish, the other boat will be there shortly! Team work makes the dream work out here for sure.
