Today's 5-Hour (PM) Bay Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures was a blast! Ramiro and their crew joined me down in South Padre Island, TX for a late afternoon on the water, and we made the most of the great conditions. May is a fantastic time for bay fishing around here, as the warming waters have the fish fired up and feeding aggressively. We met up at the launch around 2 PM, got the gear ready, and wasted no time getting lines in the water. The plan was to mix things up, working different depths and techniques to target a variety of species. We started off drifting and jigging, working some deeper holes and structure. It didn't take long before the rods started bending - the Spotted Sea Trout were putting on a show! These fish put up a great fight, stripping line and testing our light tackle. We boated a few nice ones, then switched over to some live bait fishing to see what else we could entice. That paid off big time, as we hooked into some solid fish, including more Spotted Sea Trout and a few other nice catches. The action was steady all afternoon, with the guys reeling in fish after fish. The best part was just being out on the water, enjoying the beautiful South Padre Island scenery and having a great time with good company. Even when the bite slowed down a bit, we just kicked back, took in the views, and swapped stories. That's what these trips are all about - the experience, not just the catches.
