Trip Summary

What a fun day on the water we had with Mark and their crew for our (AM) Fishing Trip 5 Hours out of South Padre Island, TX. May is a great time to be out here, as the warming waters bring the Spotted Sea Trout in close to the shore, making for some excellent light tackle and jigging opportunities. We met up at the South Padre Island Marina around 7:30 AM and got the group set up with rods and gear. The weather was starting to turn a bit cloudy, but the water was looking great - perfect conditions to get the lines out and start working some areas known to hold Spotted Sea Trout. We started off at Laguna Vista covering a lot of ground to find the active fish. It didn't take long before the first rod started bending, and Mark was into a nice Spotted Sea Trout. That fish put up a great fight, stripping line and making some good runs, but Mark kept the pressure on and we soon had it in the boat. The bite stayed steady, and we kept adding to the total, mixing in some light tackle and drift fishing techniques to cover different depths and presentations. The Spotted Sea Trout were really keyed in, smashing our baits and lures with authority. In between catches, we took some time to enjoy the scenery and have a few laughs - it was just an all-around great day on the water. The clouds never really opened up, keeping things comfortable as we continued picking away at the fish If you're looking to experience the best fishing South Padre Island has to offer, I can't recommend our (AM) Fishing Trip 5 Hours enough. Half Day Morning Bay Trip: Solid Redfish
September 5, 2025
Ruben and their crew joined us for an early morning fall trip with clear conditions throughout the day. The weather stayed consistent, giving us solid conditions to work with on the water. We headed out with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures for their 1/2 Day Morning Bay Fishing Trip. We focused on bottom fishing, casting with lures, and bait fishing to target the redfish that frequent these waters. The combination of techniques worked well, and we managed to connect with some redfish during our time out there. These methods are reliable in this area because they cover different parts of the water column and give us multiple ways to present bait to the fish.
