Trip Summary

day's 5 Hour (AM) Bay Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures was an absolute blast. I met up with Keith and their crew early that morning down in South Padre Island, TX, excited to get them out on the water and into some action. May is a prime time for bay fishing down in this area, with Spotted Seatrout and Redfish both actively feeding in the shallows. The weather was looking good—partly cloudy throughout the day, with some light winds to keep us comfortable. As we launched the boat and headed out, the water conditions were excellent, clear and calm, giving us great visibility to spot any baitfish or cruising gamefish. We started the day using a mix of jigging, light tackle, and drift fishing techniques, working different depths and structures to find where the fish were holding. It didn't take long before the rods started bending—Keith and the crew were into some solid Spotted Sea trout and redfish putting up great fights and keeping us on our toes. In between those hookups, we managed to land a few Seatrout and Redfish as well, adding some more variety to the box. The action stayed steady throughout the morning, with plenty of quality fish coming over the rails. Beyond just the great fishing, the real highlight was the positive energy and camaraderie of the group. Everyone was engaged, cheering each other on, and just genuinely having a fantastic time out on the water. That's what makes these trips so special—it's not just about the number of fish you catch, but the overall experience of being out on the water, enjoying the day with good company. If you're looking to get in on some incredible bay fishing action down in South Padre Island, TX, be sure to book your 5 Hour (AM) Bay Fishing Trip with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. Whether you're an experienced angler or a first-timer, we'll make sure you have a blast reeling in some quality gamefish and creating lasting memories on the water. Can't wait to have you join us!

Megan and family headed out for our fall morning trip with partly cloudy skies and the possibility of storms rolling in later. The early morning conditions looked promising as we launched from South Padre Island for our half-day bay fishing adventure with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures. We focused on drift fishing and bottom fishing techniques, with some trolling mixed in to cover more water. They managed to land a solid speckled trout and a 25” drum during our session. South Padre Island's bay system works well for these techniques because of the varied structure and current patterns that hold fish consistently. We wrapped up the morning run with good action and plenty of time before any weather moved in.
