Trip Summary

The flats and mangrove-lined shorelines of South Padre Island are ideal for targeting speckled trout and redfish, with the fish often holding in pockets of deeper water adjacent to the shallows; anglers should focus on working live bait or slow-sinking artificial lures along the edges of these areas to draw strikes. Tim and their crew, welcome aboard with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures, your premier fishing guide service here on the Texas Gulf Coast. We set out from South Padre Island at 7:00 AM on a beautiful June morning, with clear conditions throughout the day. Our plan for the day was to utilize live bait fishing, surf fishing, and casting lures to target the abundant Spotted trout in the area. Throughout the trip, we were able to land several Spotted trout, with the largest measuring in at 18 inches. These feisty fish put up a great fight and are excellent table fare, making them a prime target for anglers visiting the South Padre Island region. While we didn't stick a trophy on this run, every cast and minute on the water was worth it. The opportunity to experience the incredible fishing that South Padre Island has to offer is one that I would highly recommend to any angler. If you're looking to book your own unforgettable fishing adventure, I'd be more than happy to discuss our (PM) Fishing Trip 5 Hours package with you. Half Day Morning Bay Trip: Solid Redfish
Half Day Morning Bay Trip: Solid Redfish
September 5, 2025
Ruben and their crew joined us for an early morning fall trip with clear conditions throughout the day. The weather stayed consistent, giving us solid conditions to work with on the water. We headed out with Today We Fish Charter and Adventures for their 1/2 Day Morning Bay Fishing Trip. We focused on bottom fishing, casting with lures, and bait fishing to target the redfish that frequent these waters. The combination of techniques worked well, and we managed to connect with some redfish during our time out there. These methods are reliable in this area because they cover different parts of the water column and give us multiple ways to present bait to the fish. We wrapped up the morning with some solid action and good times on the water. If you're looking to get out on the water for some quality fishing action, Today We Fish Charter and Adventures has you covered with our 1/2 Day Morning Bay Fishing Trip. We specialize in bottom fishing, casting with lures, and bait fishing techniques that consistently produce results for redfish and other species in these productive waters. Our early morning trips take advantage of prime feeding times when fish are most active. Whether you're new to fishing or have years of experience, we'll put you on fish using proven methods that work in these waters.
