I certainly understand your frustration and disappointment and I’m so sorry the fishing was so slow on your trip. Unfortunately we can’t can’t catch what isn’t there!!! Most folks understand it’s fishing and unfortunately we just can’t guarantee that we will catch only what you expect when the fish just aren’t there. As for a fighting chair, we opt to use a more versatile “rocket launcher” rod holder setup for inshore/nearshore trips to have more space and mobility in the cockpit and our fighting chair is for offshore trips when much larger species are targeted like tuna and marlin. As for live bait, we select baits on a daily basis that we feel are appropriate for the conditions and for your trip and most trolling inshore nearshore trips we all use lures for trolling for the best results. I know when disappointed we sometimes look for something or someone to blame, but unfortunately we do the best we can to deliver given the conditions at the time. It was a very slow trip….a storm system had passed thru a day earlier, and the ocean front changes daily in terms of available species. Just a few days later, it was fantastic fishing for mackerel and red drum. Although it’s a bit unfair to blame the boat and crew for things beyond our control, I understand and share in your frustration. I just wish you had asked these questions or expressed concern during the trip and I would have been able to explain then vs a very unfair and harsh review of my business and livelihood. We are a small business doing the best we can to catch fish and make happy memories and such reviews are so hurtful to a business like ours. I wish folks would understand this and talk to us before bashing and blaming the very people committing to your enjoyment of what we have to offer. And the bottom line is we offer the same level of commitment, equipment, resources and experience for every trip…..so many happy reviews ….but when the fish aren’t there we get so unfairly blamed for something completely outside of our control.
