We did a half day trip and they were fantastic. I frequently fish but I brought my wife and another couple who haven’t gone on a charter before and all felt welcome, had a lot of fun, and appreciated the work that the captain and his son did to make it a great experience. I will definitely go out with them again next time we make it back to Aruba!!!
We had an absolutely wonderful time fishing aboard the J String with Captains Eddie and Jonathan! 🎣 From start to finish, they were friendly, professional, and incredibly accommodating. Jonathan was extremely knowledgeable about deep-sea fishing and did a great job making sure we understood what we were doing and had the best opportunity to catch some fish. We were fortunate enough to catch a couple, and the entire experience was so much fun! The boat was very comfortable, and having an air-conditioned cabin and restroom was a huge plus. They also provided beverages, which made the trip even more enjoyable. We truly appreciate the hospitality and the effort Captains Eddie and Jonathan put into making our day on the water such a great experience. I would highly recommend the J String to anyone looking for a great fishing charter in Aruba. Had a great trip with J-Shring Charter today. Captain Eddie and his son Jonathan did an awesome job from start to finish. We landed two mahi and a tuna, all keepers, and Eddie even handled getting the fish set up to be prepared at the restaurant afterward. Both of them were super friendly, great with the kids, and made the whole family trip fun and easy. They also took the time to explain what we were doing and what was happening throughout the trip, which made it even better. Great conversation, great fishing, and a great experience overall. Definitely recommend J-Shring Charter if you’re looking to get out on the water in Aruba!
My family had a wonderful day on the water with Captain Eddy and Jonathan, who were professional and courteous in every way. Sadly, we didn't catch any fish or even get an obvious hit on the many well-prepaired trolling lines put out by Jonathan while Captain Eddy deftly navigated the boat. I was a bit amazed at poor results since the weather and waters seemed highly favorable for catching fish. But I grew up fishing the waters of Florida and the Bahamas, which are totally different and are much more predictable. These are more complicated waters and, from what I understand, the fish we were targeting have every reason to be more picky about their diets. I could tell from the outset that trolling here is more complex than what I was accustomed to, with popper lures occupying a more significant spot. So I learned something, even if dinner tonight might include a McDonald's fish sandwich rather than the custom fillets I envisioned. Still, I applaud the J-String and its very fine crew for making this trip fun and memorable and saving me the punishing effects of my own cooking. Thanks Guys!
Fishing was a but slow, caught 4 albacore tuna. Took enough for Lucy’s to cook up at the marina. Crew worked hard to put fish in the boat. constantly checking baits, changing rigs to see if something else will produce a bite. Very friendly, chatted most of the trip. If I recall correctly we had 5 rods out, three teaser rigs, and a kinda down rigger hand line. One of the albacore caught I pulled in with the handline, that was a first for me. I did a lot of review reading on fishbooker before choosing J-String. Great reviews, and just seemed like they took their fishing seriously. That reflected on my trip. Again, it was a little slow, but no matter how great the crew is, its still fishing. Next time im in Aruba I would without hesitstion go out with J-String again.
Me and my wife went out for a 6 hour fishing trip while we were in Aruba. Both captain and first mate had great energy and worked hard for us to catch fish. They were on time and ready to go when we arrived at the boat. We ended up catching 9 fish total. 6 Bonita's. 2 Mahi Mahi. 1 Tuna. During our fishing trip we also had a pod of dolphins racing the boat and fully jumping out of the water. Was a great surprise. Finally after we got done fishing the crew set us up with Driftwood restaurant where they cooked our Mahi Mahi and Tuna for dinner (for a small fee). It ended up being a great dinner. I would highly recommend J String!
