Not a good fishing day
We booked a fishing trip based on good reviews for Captain Elier but unfortunately our experience was not as expected. There was confusion with pickup and we left about 1.5 hours late. I understand fishing is never guaranteed — I’ve fished many times in Costa Rica — but this trip felt different. We lost time fuelling the boat and catching bait, spent about 2.5 hours in the same spot without a bite, and there didn’t seem to be much effort to change locations or strategy. What made it worse was the attitude. There were many strict rules and constant corrections, and we were spoken to in a way that felt rude and condescending rather than helpful. We were able to land two fish on the boat but were told we couldn't bring them on ourselves and we didn't have any fish to bring home. Overall, it just didn’t feel like the positive, professional experience we expected and have had many times in the past in Cost Rica.
