A slow start to the day and what seemed like for most if not all the marina. Derek masterfully read all conditions and brought us to hot zones where we were catching Mahi, Wahoo, SkipJack and for fun… monster amber jack. great time on the boat, amazing first mate too- stefen had alot of on the spot tips and brought the excitement when we needed it most. will be booking agin 1000%.
We enjoyed our full day offshore adventure with the Back-n-Black crew. Captain Derek made a great call before the trip started and it paid off with two nice yellowfin tuna. First mate Stephon was very patient in explaining what was going on as well as coaching us while we were fighting the fish. We will be booking with these guys again.
I can’t say enough about the crew and the boat, we had an amazing time! Capt. Kenny Nelson and 1st Mate Kenny Koci on the Back N’ Black are second to none. I have been on several fishing charters, and I can tell you from experience this boat and crew will do everything within their power to ensure you have the best possible experience. They put in the effort to put you on fish and will change things up as much as necessary to find fish and get them in the boat. Their knowledge of the ocean and passion for fishing is at the highest possible level. The boat itself is a fishing machine. The deck area is massive, and the climate-controlled cabin provides a large area to cool off if you need a break from catching fish. If you want the best chance to catch fish, look no further, this is the boat for you. We are already planning our next trip on the Back N’ Black and fully intend on making this an annual experience. Despite the waters being rough, the captain and mate were awesome in making sure we were comfortable and were excellent teachers for my son. We caught a ton of tuna and even a dolphin. Could not have asked for a better time!
We only caught a few sea bass, sea Robbin’s, and 6 Cobia of which 2 were keepers. But Captain Derek and Stephon really exhausted every possibility to get as many fish as they could for us. They were great!
