I booked a 3 hour trip for me and my cousin. first off, marvin is the best charter captain around. i requested to catch some big fish, and marvin was able to make that happen and so much more! we went straight out and within 10 mins of hopping on the boat, we get our first casts out, and BOOM, I hooked onto a massive Drum that weighed between 60-70lbs. fighting that beast was a experience i’ll never forget. after we caught our first fish, we moved spots and targeted other species. at the spot we moved to, we caught multiple catfish from 4-20lbs, also caught some ladyfish and croaker and some other species. overall, i had the best fishing experience of my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better charter captain than marvin. such a great guy that makes the experience better than it already is. he makes you feel welcome and is very laid back. every charter is fun of course but one thing i look for when booking a charter is, a captain who knows what he’s talking about and is honest, a captain who makes the experience better, a captain who cares about his passengers and doesn’t try to speed things up just for the money, and lastly, a captain who doesn’t make it awkward and doesn’t make you feel unwelcome. and also a lot of captains are strict and don’t want you touching anything without asking and all types of strict and annoying things, but marvin met all my expectations for a captain. I now know who to call when i want to go on a charter to have a good/unforgettable time. cant thank you enough marvin!!!🙌🏽
Took my 6 and 12 year old sons and fished St. Andrews Bay on a 2 hr trip. We caught sail cats, spotted trout, and hard head catfish. We hooked several other species (including a ~6’ shark!), but couldn’t land them all! Marvin is a great guide and extremely knowledgeable and a lifelong local to the area. He has kids similar in age to mine so was very patient with helping them get set up. The two hour trip seemed to be the sweet spot where my youngest was still having fun at the end and both kids said it was their favorite part of our trip to Florida! I didn’t know anything about bay fishing before this trip and was very pleasantly surprised with the conditions (way less time boating and smoother water than the Gulf) and the action was consistent throughout the trip!
made sure everyone had time reeling and equally catching fish. big ones! takes pictures of your catch. does all the baiting and unhooking. of course he lets you operate at your own experience. pays extra attention to your kids that you’re trying to show a good time- isnt easy these days. we are middle of the road reguarding charter fishing and he can do basic to expert. book with Marvin and you wont be disappointed
Had a great short notice fishing trip. We were out for a bit over 2 hours and caught some great spotted trout and 2 catfish. The kids loved the fishing and I loved the ease of it. Marvin played music and we enjoyed ourselves throughly. It was just easy. A thing any parent can appreciate. I will definitely book again next year when we visit 30A.
Captain Marvin was great. Boat was well maintained. We caught loads of fish mostly trout, but we did catch some red fish in the back waters first. Captain Marvin is very personable. It felt like hanging out with an old friend doing some fishing. What more could you ask for. highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Marvin.
