David was very gentle and kind with our 6 year old and 8 year old. He taught them each step patiently and made sure that they caught enough fish. He consistently emcouraged them and made them feel proud of their technique and the fish they caught. Besides making it fun, David also taught them new skills.

Our fishing excursion was fantastic. Our captain, Jerry, was fun and engaging. He helped us bait our hooks, and told us where to cast. We caught fish, they fileted them for us, and told us how or where to cook them. As a widowed mom, this was a fantastic way to take my two college aged sons fishing. Capt’s John and Chastity were great. Down to earth, laid back, the types of people that we instantly connected with. Our kids loved them and they made their outing special. It’s been decades since I’ve chartered a boat. I’ve never caught so many fish without once touching a fish or baiting a hook. They treat you like a VIP. Definitely folks we can be friends with. Will be hooking up with them on our next trip back for sure.

Taking my 8 year old grandson on his first trip was a bit worrysome. But upon meeting Captain Jerry of Freebird changed it all. He was excellent working with my grandson who can be more than a tad shy. Showing him the ropes on how to cast, reel, and even hook while maintaing a paitent and kind persona is a quality that few have. I would highly recommend this charter for anyone with young kids and adults alike.
